Naohiro Takahara - Japan Super Striker

Naohiro Takahara the Japan striker got a couple of goals against Germany and he is surely one of the strikers to watch at this World Cup.
He should get another chance to add to his tally on his birthday, this Sunday against Malta.
His two-goal feat raised hopes that Japanese forwards will improve their art of finishing. And I strongly hope so.
You can read much more about what he is all about right here.

Oh yeah, I’ll be watching the guy with interest. His role on the match against Germany colored me impressed. They can do it.

Two goals in a friendly match don’t make him a super striker. The fact that he hardly scored any goals for his club last season was not a case of bad luck.

He would be a super striker by the end of this World Cup.

Taka ia a great striker for Japan considering his injuries and missing out on the 2002 World Cup I am looking forward to his being on fire in Germany. Yeah he had a poor last season for HSV but that does not make him a bad player. His awards and achievements speak for themselves:
- 2002 J League MVP and Top Scorer (26goals/27matches)
- January 2003 scored the goal for HSV which ended Oliver Kahn’s then Bundesliga record of 803 minutes without conceding.
