Japanese coach looks to sort out his team’s strike power in build up to World Cup
Head coach Zico is worried about his team’s killer instinct in front of goal ahead of the World Cup finals in Germany.
The Japanese coach has been frustrated by his team’s poor finishing in recent matches and looks to work on that aspect of the Japanese game in the build up to the World Cup in Germany.
Zico will have the opportunity to work with the likes of Yokohama F Marinos striker Kubo, JEF United Chiba target man Seiichiro Maki and in-form Hisato Sato ahead of this month’s friendly against United States.
Other Japanese strikers in contention for places in the World Cup team include France based Masashi Oguro, who was Japan’s leading striker in the National team in 2005, Hamburg SV’s Naohiro Takahara and Messina’s Atsushi Yanagisawa.
The trio might get a look in due to their European experience.
