Japan hit India for six
February 22nd, 2006 | By: ShiLou | No Comments »
Defending champions Japan dished out a footballing lesson to India by trashing them 6-0 in the first qualifying match of the 2007 AFC Asian Cup in Yokohama.
Japan were leading by just a goal at half-time but turned up the heat against the Indians in the last 15 minutes of the contest.
Unfortunately the final score did not reflect that the Indians kept the nippy Japanese forwards at bay for most of the game.
Goalkeeper Sandip Nandy kept the scoreline from going into double figures by being in top form.
The result must have brought back unhappy memories of the 7-0 drubbing handed out by the Japanese in the World Cup qualifiers last year.
